Files are saved in the same folder as the originals, using the size and quality saved in ImageConverter.
Drop in the centre hole and nothing happens. While converting, click the ring or press Esc to stop.
In Config, pick Ctrl, Shift or Alt for Press while dragging (default Alt) and Hold and drag (default Off). Available in the installed version.
No real files are changed.
Pick a card to put files in the main window and start converting.
You can also change the size box, or right-click the button to choose another format and click again.

Results appear here after converting.
File names and sizes are examples; nothing is actually converted.
Drop a folder and it scans subfolders too, adding only images. The same file is never added twice.
JPG is saved with MozJPEG, the same quality in fewer bytes. Quality is remembered separately for JPG and WEBP, and WEBP at quality 100 is lossless.
JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WEBP, TIFF, HEIC, AVIF, PSD, PDF, SVG, TGA, ICO and more. The format is read from the file's content, not its name.
Saving as PNG or WEBP keeps transparent backgrounds, and GIF or WEBP keeps every frame of an animation. HEIC photos are saved upright.
Select files, right-click → ImageConverter and pick a format; a window opens with those files. It also appears in the Windows 11 default menu.
All conversion happens on your PC, and the tools it needs are included, so there's nothing else to install. No administrator rights required.

Light theme screen. The app offers System, Light and Dark themes.
Drop HEIC files or a folder of photos into the list, leave the format at JPG and click. Photos are saved upright according to the rotation the phone recorded, so there's no need to turn sideways shots yourself.
Choose Width in the size box and pick a width such as 1280. The height follows the proportions. For a value not in the list, just type a number in the box (1–30000). Photos smaller than that width are also scaled to it.
Choose Height and every result gets the same height, with each width following its own proportions. Handy for lining up landscape and portrait shots in one row.
Leave the format at JPG and MozJPEG saves it smaller. To go further, lower the quality box next to Config → Format to about 60 and reduce the size with Width too. WEBP is usually smaller than JPG.
Save PNG, SVG and other files with transparency as PNG or WEBP and the transparency stays. JPG can't hold transparency, so choose PNG or WEBP for logos and icons.
Add the SVG, set Width to something like 512 and convert to PNG. It isn't stretching a small picture but drawing it fresh at that size, so it stays sharp even when large.
Add the PDF and convert; each page is saved as a numbered file such as document-001.jpg, document-002.jpg … Set Width and the pages are drawn sharply at that width. The background is white.
When the output format is GIF or WEBP, every frame of an animation is carried over. GIF to WEBP keeps the motion and reduces the size. Saving as JPG, PNG or TIFF keeps just the first frame.
Choose a folder under Config → Output Path and every result goes there. The default is Desktop\ImageConverter, created when needed. To save next to the originals, choose Original File Folder.
The list stays after converting. Right-click the button, change the format and click again to make the same files in another format.
Select the rows (Ctrl or Shift for several), right-click the list and choose Delete. To clear it, choose Delete All. They only leave the list; the actual files aren't deleted.
Close the window and it asks Stop converting and quit?. Click Yes and it finishes the file in progress, then quits. Results already saved stay where they are.

ImageConverter doesn't update itself. When a new version is out it tells you at startup, and clicking [Yes] opens the download page.
Yes. ImageConverter is freeware: use it anywhere without limits — at home, at work, in government offices or schools — and redistribute it freely.
No. Results are always saved as new files, and neither the originals nor any existing file is overwritten. If the name is taken, it uses a new name like photo (1).jpg.
JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WEBP, TIFF, HEIC, AVIF, PSD, PDF, SVG, TGA, ICO and more. The format is read from the file's content, not its extension, so files with a missing or wrong extension work too. It saves in five formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP and TIFF.
No. All conversion happens on your PC. The internet is used only to check for a new version.
Conversion is the same. The installer also sets up the Explorer right-click menu, drag to convert and the notification area icon. The portable version runs straight from the ZIP without those three.
It works in the installed version only. Check that the ImageConverter icon is in the notification area — if you right-click it and choose Exit, drag to convert pauses too. Check the keys under Press while dragging and Hold and drag in Config.
No. At startup (and for the installed version, also when Windows starts) it checks for a new version and tells you; clicking Yes opens the download page.
At first it follows the Windows display language, falling back to English if that language isn't supported. You can also choose one under Config → Language.
